Is this right for me?

Deciding to work with a Pathwork® helper can be an exciting time! It means you have reached a critical point in your self-search and discovery that you are ready. You realize that going it alone might actually be the thing slowing you down. This can happen if you've done plenty of reading, online courses, workshops, meditation, and other modalities by yourself, no doubt enriching yourself, but not seeing the transformation you sense possible. Maybe you are wondering "Is a Pathwork helper--or Janice--a good fit for me?"

What kinds of people are likely to benefit from working with a Pathwork helper?

First and foremost, your own intuition is the best source of information on what is the right next step, modality, and person for you on your journey. That said, it can help to see some descriptions of the kinds of people that are likely to benefit from Pathwork methods, or me (Janice), specifically. Here is a non-exhaustive list.

Do any of these apply to you?

  • You're ready to go deeper. You've done other therapy, coaching, study, spiritual practices, or mystical experiences, but stayed on the surface, or not seen the kinds of lasting transformation you're searching for now.

  • You have a spiritual side you know exists but haven't explored yet. This includes atheists who are among the deepest-thinking people I know.

  • You're a high-functioning person for whom therapy or a diagnosis doesn't fit, yet you are aware that something is missing. You may have low-grade depression, lack motivation, or lack a deep knowing about your personal mission despite an otherwise successful life.

  • You don't want to choose between science/reason and spirituality. You want to be a fully grounded, practical person while not depriving yourself of the real awe-inspiring experiences in life.

  • You are willing to look at personal fault and negativities (with help, remember!), with the intention of changing them.

  • You are ready to explore self-creation and self-responsibility for all aspects of your life.

  • You want to cultivate deeper compassion for yourself and others.

  • You want to change and grow into the next highest expression of yourself. You know it is possible.

  • You are a helping/healing professional who needs to cultivate a strong intuition to receive guidance for yourself and your clients.

  • You are an energy healer or other professional with awareness of energetic fields and the need to maintain a clear energetic channel by doing transformation work such as Pathwork. (The renowned energy healer Barbara Brennan was also Pathwork helper and stresses the importance of clearing one's channel with Pathwork methods.)

Is a Pathwork helper a good fit for me?

A Pathwork helper can provide any number of new elements to your growth path, some of which you might not even be aware yet. Here is a partial list of ways a Pathwork helper can help you go farther in your personal journey.

Do any of these seem important to you right now on your journey?

  • Finding blocks and blind spots. Hint: If you still have problems you'd like to solve or areas to grow in life, you have blind spots! Once found, we can correct misconceptions about yourself, others, and life so you can create what you want.

  • Emotional support. We are not meant to "go it alone"! In fact, much of the pain or trauma that stays with us today is the result of being alone in a past, unavoidable hurt in life. The only way to truly heal old wounds is to experience connection in the process.

  • Somatic awareness and meditation. We've all had the experience of meditating or becoming still within your body, but found it's hard, especially by yourself! Some of that is just due to lack of time and practice, but some of that is a real lack of support and presence. The body and your feelings are valuable, indispensable sources of inner information that are easy to overlook, ironically especially if we're smart and good at talk therapy. When we have that support and presence of another person, we can build the muscles of awareness on all levels--physical, mental, emotional--and finally integrate them into a fuller experience of self, reality, and possibility.

  • Focus and pacing. If you've tried journaling, meditating, and learning new skills on your own, there can be a tendency to get overwhelmed and lost, or unmotivated and let your well-intentioned practice fall by the wayside.  With someone else's eyes, when you slow down or change focus, what you notice can completely surprise you...for the better!

  • Apply Pathwork or other spiritual knowledge to you personally, and your unique needs.  Knowledge gained from reading lectures, books, and group workshops might be ready for a deeper dive, if you're ready.

  • Awareness of your soul's journey. When you have a helper helping you hold the container of your personal work and growth, you have an ally and an additional energetic support that can inspire and keep you stimulated. There is a knowing that something deeper is happening, and motivation and inspiration that comes with a witness to your journey in the depth that it deserves.

A helper is trained to observe and ask questions with compassion and purpose, with relevant feedback for the topics you are working on. Unlike traditional therapy, advice-giving and skill-development are not a primary focus. We seek to avoid judgment and diagnoses. There are no patently right or wrong answers. We are here to help you uncover your own truth about things. Think about yourself: Do you really want more advice? If not overtly, most of us secretly resist something else "to do" or another perceived, if subtle, rule to follow...which it actually is when coming from an authority outside ourselves. Pathwork might be a good fit for you if you've gotten to the point where heaping on more knowledge, skills, advice, processes, and the like is not resonating with you anymore. There is a way to go deeper, and that is by getting help that helps YOU go deeper with yourself.
